Association „Kauno Arkos bendruomenė“ is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges. Operating in Kaunas, Lithuania, the community runs day-care centres, social workshops, and independent living homes, fostering social inclusion and personal growth.

Challenge

The organisation needed an accessible, reliable, and functional web platform to support multiple core workflows:

- Facilitating a frictionless, secure method for gathering financial donations online.

- Providing e-commerce functionality to showcase and sell goods crafted in social workshops.

A key operational requirement was delivering a straightforward administrative interface so the internal team could publish reports, news, and manage donations without developer intervention.

The platform was built using WordPress, customized to support the community's engagement and fundraising workflows:

- Donation Processing: integrated Stripe Checkout for quick and compliant online transactions. Supporters can contribute via preset tiers (€10, €15, €30, €60) or custom payment amounts.

- E-commerce Capabilities: structured shop, cart, and checkout workflows tailored for workshop crafts and community goods.

- Content Architecture: clean navigation separating operational programmes (Day Centre, Social Workshops, Living Homes) from legal reports, team details, and community news.

- Engagement Channels: dedicated sections for volunteer onboarding, careers, corporate sponsorships, and statutory tax-assignment contributions.

Kauno Arka operates a clean, modern digital presence that significantly lowers barriers to public support. The automated donation flow provides a transparent and frictionless giving experience, while the underlying content management system allows the organisation to independently adapt its content to ongoing social initiatives.
